What is Pre-Nursery?
In the initial nursery (pre-nursery) the aim is to obtain even growth of the seedlings before being transferred to the main nursery.
Why is it necessary to carry out initial seeding?
The aim of oil palm nurseries is to produce high quality seeds which must be available when the planting land preparation is complete. A well-managed nursery will produce good seeds in sufficient quantities for planting in the field.
How do you maintain oil palm plant nurseries?
During the seeding process, carry out plant care in the form of watering, weeding, replanting and fertilizing. Watering is done twice a day every morning and evening. Weeding is done 2 to 3 times a month or according to the condition of the weeds on the seeds.
